Perfect Pants for Spring

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

Katie knows you’re excited to shed layers this spring and start wearing the pretty pastel, floral, color blocking and maxi skirts and dresses you’ve been buying for next season. Aside from the fear of showing pale legs, I love walking down Walnut Street in a pretty spring dress when the warm breezes begin. But when I visited the Knit Wit last week, I freaked over the amazing new pants for spring 2012.

Colored denim was big last autumn with darker hues like eggplant colored denim from J BRAND and we are seeing that trend carry through spring 2012 with brighter colors.

Ramy Brook makes sexy, flattering silk tops for women. These pants are silk heaven and so chic. Paired with a Michael Stars crochet-esque top.

Keeping with the black and white trend, these new A.L.C. wide cropped pants paired with a Ramy Brook one-shoulder and Paul Smith hat.

Stop by the Knit Wit this week to try these on and check out more fab pants for spring!

A.L.C. Fall 2012 RTW Fav Looks

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Katie knows the Knit Wit’s Ann Gitter can always spot a fabulous designer. The incredible line A.L.C. by Andrea Lieberman has been carried at my favorite boutique since it was born in 2008.

It’s always fresh and interesting while still classic and chic. I was thrilled when I saw pics of the new designs! Here are some of my favorite looks from A.L.C.‘s fall 2012 RTW collection shown at NYFW:

The colors of this maxi dress are subdued yet striking. Pair it with a chunky cardigan for a perfect autumn look.

I am going to seriously need this coat!

I just picked up the most chic black jumpsuit by A.L.C. at Plage Tahiti – for 80% off! And, the Knit Wit has a huge A.L.C. selection to hold you over until these fabulous fall pieces arrive.

All About A.L.C. – Stylist Turned Designer

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Katie knows that A.L.C. stands for the Andrea Lieberman Collection, one of Knit Wit‘s favorite new lines.  Aren’t familiar with the woman behind the brand?  You know her work.  She’s credited with such iconic fashion moments as Jennifer Lopez’s green Versace dress at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

The former celebrity stylist gave birth to her daughter less than a year before she debuted her first collection, which was inspired by friend Shirley Manson, lead singer of Garbage.  Since 2009 she’s offered feminine, interesting and contemporary designs in a variety of textures and fabrics.  If you by an A.L.C. piece, it is sure to become one of your favs.

Summer 2011 Trend: Color Blocking

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Color blocking is super hot this summer.  You’ve seen it on the uber chic waltzing down Walnut: when clothes are made stitching various solid color fabrics together, the result can be a color blocking dream.
Katie knows you must invest in some color block frocks immediately.  You can thank me later.

Jessica Alba glows in a version of DVF’s color block Reara Dress.
Bridgette Bardot Dress from B44 Dressed – perfect for work or play!
The Sleeveless Angelina Dress in Sky Blue by Sachin + Babi has a gorgeous beaded top.
Rihanna rocks the color blocking style.

Color blocking isn’t just for dresses.  Katie knows that a color block sweater or shoe will make you stand out this autumn.

Here’s a photo of our gorgeous Knit Wit models before they walked the Rittenhouse Row fashion show at Marathon Grill on September 10. Dressed head-to-toe in designer duds from the likes of Alexander Wang, A.L.C., Haute Hippie, Paul Smith, and more, these girls turned heads on the runway.

For more information on the clothes shown in this photo, visit one of our stores or click here for contact information.

Big thanks to our models and everyone who supported us in this year’s fall fashion show!
