Super Bowl Sunday T’s

Katie knows that a sweet silk blouse can transform your outfit into a sophisticated ensemble. But when you’re heading to a Super Bowl XLVI party, leave the silk at home. Football was made for t-shirts.

That doesn’t mean I want to see you in a mis-shaped, stained t-shirt that should be retired to the cleaning rag pile!

How to do Monochrome

Katie knows a monochrome (one color) look can be put together using any color. But black is tres chic and so very Knit Wit. Not to mention flattering for every figure, slimming in silhouette and complimentary to every skin tone.

Here are some ideas for how to pull off a monochrome black outfit (pay attention to the shoes, ladies!):

Pair this 3.1 Phillip Lim Band Collar Shirt with a black pencil skirt. Leave your legs bare this spring and keep the blouse untucked. You can take this basic look from office to evening with a few simple accessories.

This may look like a dress, but it’s a skirt and shirt! Pair this Halston Heritage Pleated Knit Skirt in Black with any black top that can be easily tucked in and you’ve got a stunning monochromatic look. This skirt can be sexed-up with a slinky top or worn to the office with a blouse. Add a nude heel to elongate your legs!

I love this Gwyneth Shirt by Elizabeth and James because it is so versatile. Shown here with black skinny jeans, like Mother Denim, this outfit can be worn with heels or flats and a variety of accessories. It’s a fab outfit for a Mom on the go who still wants to look chic.

When putting together a monochromatic outfit, remember your accessories and shoes do not need to be the same color as your clothes. 2012 HOT Color: Tangerine!

Pantone is considered one of the leading authorities on color trends and it recently announced its “2012 Color of the Year” Tangerine Tango.  Katie knows this bright, cheery color also pairs well with neutral or more sober, darker hues.  Just looking at it makes you think of spring!

Katie Loves Halston Heritage

Katie knows that Halston (born Roy Halston Frowick)  is one of America’s most iconic fashion designers.  Best known for designing Jacqueline Kennedy’s famous pillbox hat and long, fabulous dresses perfect for the 1970′s discos, this beloved artist died more than 20 years ago.  But fashionistas have cheered the new Halston Heritage line, created in 2008 by Harvey Weinstein, Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon and Rachel Zoe.  Lucky us, the legend continues!

Chan Luu: Much More Than Bracelets!

Katie knows you love Chan Luu wrap bracelets.  Who doesn’t?! 

Seen on women like the Kardashian’s, Giselle and the super chic strolling through the Square, Chan Luu wrap bracelets are beloved and work well with many kinds of outfits and styles.  Like, on the beach!
